Photos Of Antique Pumpjacks
Here are some antique pumpjacks that were used in
the Permian Basin of Texas. These pumpjacks pumped oil from the Permian Basin,
one of the largest oil fields in the U.S.


The antique pumpjacks featured above are on
display at the Petroleum Museum in Midland Texas. Below is a oil pumping unit
that uses hydraulics instead of a counter weight system:
The large vertical tanks were part of a
counterbalance system with compressed air over hydraulic fluid. The name of this
model is the Lufkin Long Stroke Hydraulic Unit.
